i don't understand how certain people in my company can be so desperate to travel such that they just jump at every chance to head out. super gian pheng. (sidenote: i just farted a number of times in my seat. i just stood up and the accumulated farts gave off a very strong smell. woots!) to continue my story, we shall first dub the person in question - yao gwhee or YG (hungry ghost, sorry don't have the best hokkien spelling). how that nickname came about deserves an entire blog spot of its own.
the reason why i'm so irritated by him is the fact that he's so eager to travel that he has overstepped his jurisdiction. he volunteered to head to this particular vessel in vietnam even though he's not in charge of her. if you have so much time to volunteer to head out for other people's vessels, then why don't you put in that time to tidy up the documentations for vessels under your charge?! instead of wasting time, walking here and there in the office, going into your boss' room to angkat his balls?! why do you want to travel so much? it's not as if you can do much even if you travelled because you're going there to work, not to sightsee.
and i was really irritated with this idiot because he told me this:
YG: hey XXX and i will travel with via commercial airline, and the service engineers travel by budget
i questioned him: why must you and him travel by commercial and the service engineers by budget?!
YG had the bloody balls to tell me that it's instructed by his boss.
so i shot him back: company policy, if have flight by budget, travel by budget. and approval doesn't come from your boss. it comes from MY boss.
to which the f*head replied: ah! like that no good lah!
at this point in time, i really wanted to tell him, if you think this place is not good simply because you have to take budget, then you can jolly well fuck off to another job. it's not like you are damn good at your job, if certain people ard you are not helping you out. you can't even fucking handle the clients at all.
i suspected that he knew all along that the vessel is oinly coming in for a 24hr port call, but he told me instead that he doesn't know how long this job is going to take and there might be a need to extend their stay. of course, logically speaking, it's better to pay for a commercial flight with flexibility of changing dates than flying budget and having to pay a change fee and the fare difference each time we needed to amend the dates. so of course, no choice but to let them fly commercial.
so yesterday he told me this:
YG: can change our return date to the 8th instead of the 9th? because vessel only port calling for 24 hrs. so there's no need to extend our stay there.
me: so means can actually book budget in the first place lah!
YG: oh! i only got to know about it this morning.
me (wanting to say this): well you should know about this as you are the vessel manager. fuck you.
so anyway, now the flight for the two service engineers are fully booked because they are taking the cheaper flight (sq promo: 2 to go). f*head man. seriously. cost conscious my head. if he was, he would not insist on taking commercial. and now the 2 service engineers have to stay an additional night. cost conscious my ass.
**update @ 1450hrs**
now he wants to add another person to travel to jakarta. yeah sure, just add. i mean the signboard in front of my cubicle has travel agency written all f*ing over it right? you think i f*ing just sit here every day and wait for people to tell me when they want to travel and how many people? and that i f*ing have the time to plan and book everyone's flight till swee swee. sure! i'll just go tell jetstar/valuair to change their flight timings to match sq's. easy peasy. because i do it ALL the time. and it's my fucking job right?! fuck you and fuck off.
